About Herd
While being an application for the US stock market, the idea for the Herd platform germinated during the incredible crypto run of 2017 (don't worry there is a crypto version in the works). During this time, while people were still debating the intrinsic value of crypto assets, a revolution in social trading was already maturing on Reddit and Twitter. People were self-organizing on these social platforms and coming together as herds to move the markets with dramatic effect.
Around the same time, 0% commission stock trading was slowly setting the stage for social trading to spread to the traditional equity markets. Love it or hate it, Robinhood nudged almost every brokerage platform to move to 0% commission trading over the next few years, bringing unprecedented access for individuals to actively participate in the stock market.

By 2020, the revolution was no longer underground. Social trading reached mainstream, and we all saw the rise of Gamestop, AMC, Tesla and many many more momentum stocks. (and the memes that went along with it!).
We were part of this revolution from Day 1. We have observed, participated, and benefited from these new social movements. There is incredible power in social herds and traders who can track this information gain an edge over those who don’t. But, tracking social herds on social platforms is no longer as easy as it once was. The flood of data is overwhelming, and to synthesize, analyze and then act upon this data is exhausting even for elite traders. That’s why we built the Herd platform, so that more time is spent on making decisions with good information and less time is spent on mindlessly scrolling through the flood of social media posts.
We use the Herd platform daily in our own trading.
It has liberated us from the noise on social platforms, and we hope you also find it as useful as we do. Happy trading!
